Wonderful Train

I'm not sure where I can get a ticket for the wonderful train and I'm not sure where the wonderful train goes but I love train rides. And Angela St. Philips makes it sound like its just the best. What I love about the liner notes on this one is they tell what synths they used, the Oberheim Dmx, Dsx, Korg Poly 61, Prophet 5.

I have been looking at a great soft synth that emulates the old Oberheim sound. The OP-X from Sonic Projects sounds great, affordable and you can try it free.

Milkways Intergalactic and the Superstar

Happy 2010! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe celebration this New Year's Eve. Took me a while to get back on the horse but I have some fun tracks up my sleeve starting with some space disco from Spain. Milkways launched this cerebral funk into the ionosphere in 1978 for Barclay. A thought provoking track for a long and lonely drift through space.

And here is a fun, funky track from The Boomerang Club Band, "Dee Jay Superstar." Italo-Boogie-Hip-Hop from 1983. Funky synth leads, chunky disco bass, and thick accented raps make this a one track party.

Mike Rogers (aka Marco Zani)

Just a Story - Mike Rogers

Marco Zani (aka Mike Rogers) recorded this Italo gem in 1984. He had another song Happy Moon in 1986 but it doesn't measure up to the addictiveness of 'Just a Story.' But in 1985 he produced 'Hold Me Tight' for Katy Gray and this one holds some Italo water for sure. And don't miss his work on Reale Accademia's 'She's Mine.'
