You don't need to speak any language to like good music. And bloggers around the world are putting up great tracks to listen and download. Its amazing what you can find when you start digging into the internet like a record store. A mutual interest and passion for music has united me (even in superficial ways) with people all around the world. If you have not yet checked out some of the blogs I have linked to do yourself a favor and start exploring what they have to offer.
Kefir - I just added this new one tonight. Kefir, from Russia offers some choice tracks for perusal and download.
Italo4You - This one has been on my list for a while and it is full of tracks. Another Eastern European exploration into Italo, they use rapidshare which can be a pain in the ass sometimes but its still full of great free music.
Italo-Disco-Funk-Music - Dario.zg has dropped by Italobot to spread some love and his blog can really put Italobot to shame. Please go over there and find yourself welcome.
Italo-Deviance - A conglomerate of Italian, French, American, and Dutch bloggers and DJs they have some cool re-edits and tracks on here.
Mister Italo - Mr. Italo has some great tracks and mixes for download. Stop by and explore the wealth of late 70s and early 80s disco and dance music they have to offer.
Arawa.fm - I have written about Arawa.fm before. These fellow San Franciscans are on the pulse of what is hot and hip right now. A mixture of 80s, Video art, and all around awesomeness, Arawa.fm never fails to please.
BeatElectric - Another San Francisco blog full of the hottest boogie R&B and funk. These guys are doing it real funky. Some of the stuff they post is like jelly and it just makes me melt. Keep it up.
Really there are so many great blogs out there and with a little patience exploring these blogs and their links can put you on course to discover music and music sources that make your collection swell to obnoxiousness.

La Bionda - I Wanna Be Your Lover
La Bionda - I Wanna Be Your Lover
Another song that sounds so familiar to me that I am convinced it has already been co-opted by the indie community. Released in 1980 this song is almost thirty but sounds so fresh that it could be released today and be the summer hit. Not too much info in English on La Bionda except that is formed of Carmelo & Michelangelo La Bionda. But delving further into Italian Wikipedia shows us that these brothers are considered among the founders of disco italiano. Check out more here

Mr. Moroder

No conversation about Disco or Italo Disco could be complete without paying tribute to super producer Giorgio Moroder. Known primarily for his work with Donna Summer, Moroder also made a killing at the box office producing unforgettable soundtracks for films in the 80s such as Flashdance, Top Gun, American Gigolo, Midnight Express, Never Ending Story, and many more. His mastery of the synthesizer has inspired countless electronic musicians and his sound left an imprint on a generation, even if it may have been subconscious to many. He released a few solo albums in the 70s and 80s but I think his track From Here to Eternity is the pinnacle of his solo achievements.
He also has a pretty extensive website detailing many of his accomplishments. But the most impressive has to be his custom designed super car. Touted as "The Super-Performance Sports Car the Rich Daydream About," the Cizeta-Moroder V16T is definitely out of my price range. And don't worry, he still keeps busy with music. He recently won a competition by the Chinese Government to compose the theme song, "Forever Friends," for the closing ceremonies at the Beijing Summer Olympics 2008 (yikes!).
If you want to get into the head of this synthesizer mastermind Italfree.com has an extensive collection of Moroder interviews from 1978 to 1996. This video is an amazing documercial (?) for his album E=MC2.
