Pink Project

Pink Project was Luciano Ninzatti and Stefano Pulga and they liked to do covers of Pink Floyd, Space, and more. "Amama" is a space disco track with some blocky synthesizers thrown in for good measure. You can tell from their sound selection that they were inspired by France's Space. Released in 1982 on the album Domino for Baby Records. Produced by Salvatore Annunziata and R. Fraschini. Check out Pink Project performing "Disco Project" back in the day. Those outfits are kind of freaky. Browse youtube for some of the other covers on the album.

  1. Freaky costumes. Not too much originality in the notes and tones of that solo. Are you sure this isn't actually David Gilmore dressed for a Magic tournament?

  2. Wow, its amazing to finally put a face to a much loved record! And my gods, what a face, such wonderful costumes, reminds me of a Residents album cover where they wore similar KKK style hoods and gowns (though they didn't wield electric guitars in a strange Shadows meets Status Quo choreography display).

My love for the track has only increased! By the way, this track isn't 'Amama', this is
called the 'Disco Project Medley' which is made up of 'Mammagamma' and 'Sirius' by the Alan Parsons Project and of course Pink Floyds 'Another Brick In The Wall Part Three'. The 'Amama' track was as far as I know their own composition with both tracks appearing on the 1982 'Domino' album (highly recommended if you like your disco kosmische style).
